Job Description

The lumper position focuses on the streamlined unloading of containers at the dock. This role is physically demanding and high-energy, necessitating a dedication to pace, precision, dependability, and collaborative effort. Key Performance Objectives Lumpers must maintain an average output of 1.5 unloaded containers per shift. A fast-paced, steady work tempo is required throughout the entire work period. Core duties involve the perpetual lifting, organizing, stacking, and wrapping of freight. Compensation is productivity-based; increased output results in higher pay, whereas decreased speed lowers earnings. Achievement in this production-focused environment relies on personal drive, sustained stamina, and teamwork. Sorting and Palletization Protocols Strict adherence to stacking procedures is mandatory to ensure the safety and balance of all freight. Lumpers are responsible for accurately segregating items, especially when handling "shotgun" loads or shipments with over 30 unique SKUs. It is vital to confirm that every pallet's configuration matches the provided manifests and paperwork exactly. Maintaining TI/HI specifications with precision is required, balancing accuracy with production goals. Pallet Wrapping Quality Guidelines To comply with Precision standards, all completed pallets must meet the following criteria: Full coverage is required; no product or boxes may be left uncovered. Wraps must be continuous without any gaps, holes, or skipped sections. Freight must be completely stabilized and secured to the pallet for safe handling and storage. Lumpers should take pride in delivering professional, high-quality workmanship on every pallet. #hc242414
