Job Description

Vector's partner is seeking a Production Support Specialist (PSS) who will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by coordinating materials, helping with vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely movement of parts throughout the production process. This position serves as a liaison between the CNC Machining Department, outside vendors, shipping carriers, and internal teams to ensure parts are delivered accurately and on schedule Salary is based on experience. Overtime eligible
Responsibilities:
Support the CNC Machining Department by coordinating the flow of materials and outsourced processes. Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for outside vendors. Expedite vendor orders to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements. Track parts and materials throughout the United States using various freight carriers. Investigate and resolve shipment issues, including lost, delayed, or damaged parts. Identify and coordinate replacement of scrapped or nonconforming parts to minimize production delays. Verify Department of Transportation (DOT) serial numbers and maintain accurate documentation. Receive incoming parts and inspect shipments for accuracy and completeness. Coordinate drop shipments between suppliers, subcontractors, and customers. Establish and manage shipping carriers to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation. Communicate expedited shipping requirements and associated costs with vendors and internal stakeholders. Package parts for shipment while ensuring proper protection and labeling. Maintain accurate records of shipments, purchase orders, vendor communications, and inventory transactions. Work closely with production, purchasing, quality, and shipping departments to resolve issues quickly. Assist with inventory organization and material movement as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing, production support, logistics, purchasing, or supply chain preferred. Experience working in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment is highly desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP systems is preferred. Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, purchasing, and inventory processes. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documentation and purchase orders. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong time management and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Comfortable working with vendors, freight carriers, and internal departments. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis. Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of packages and manufactured parts. #IND101
