The Manufacturing Associate I is primarily responsible for manufacturing Vector's products according to established procedures and documenting all work in production batch records using established good documentation practices. The Manufacturing Associate I will operate and maintain common laboratory equipment as per instructions and works under general supervision on assigned tasks. Technical expertise should include strong knowledge of general laboratory safety and practices, basic knowledge of modern synthetic organic chemistry, multistep synthesis, and purification technique.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs multi-step synthesis at milligram to multi gram scale
  • Manufactures reagents and product according to established procedures
  • Documents all manufacturing steps as they are performed using good documentation practices
  • Performs purification of target compounds using column chromatography (normal and reversed phase, ion-exchange) and automated procedures
  • Understands and interprets analytical results (HPLC, UV-vis, TLC)
  • Performs routine reagent preparation for inventory and finished goods
  • Performs in-process testing as required
  • Maintains production equipment and facilities in clean, good working condition
  • Works with hazardous materials following specified safety precautions
  • Maintains a clean, orderly and safe laboratory environment following health and safety guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
BS or BA degree in Chemistry or
A.S./B.S.
degree in a related field will also be considered with relevant laboratory experience preferred.
  • 0 - 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently follow directions
  • Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints while maintaining a high level of work quality
  • Ability to work with chemicals and organic solvents materials
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing Ability to lift 50 lbs.
