What You'll Do:
As a Shipyard Laborer, you'll assist with a variety of tasks throughout the shipyard, including: Cleaning, preparing, and organizing work areas before, during, and after projects. Loading, unloading, and transporting materials, equipment, and tools throughout the shipyard. Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively. Grinding, chipping, scraping, and preparing steel surfaces for repair or painting. Assisting with rigging, lifting, and moving heavy materials using chain falls, slings, come-alongs, and other lifting equipment. Performing general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organized work environment. Working aboard boats, barges, dry docks, and in various shipyard environments, including confined spaces and elevated work areas. Following all company safety procedures, environmental policies, and quality standards.
Essential Physical Functions:
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75 pounds independently and heavier materials with assistance or mechanical lifting equipment. Climb ladders, scaffolding, gangways, and vessel access points. Bend, kneel, squat, crawl, stoop, and work in awkward positions for extended periods. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity. Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Work safely around heavy equipment, cranes, forklifts, and moving machinery.
Tools You'll Use:
Hand tools including hammers, pry bars, wrenches, shovels, and scrapers. Power tools such as grinders, drills, impact tools, and saws. Air tools and pressure washing equipment. Chain hoists, come-alongs, slings, and rigging equipment. Forklifts, man lifts, and other material handling equipment (as qualified). What You Bring to the

Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding work. Dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment. Willingness to learn new skills and assist multiple trades. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
