We are looking for a Quality Control Specialist to help protect product quality, maintain documentation accuracy, and keep material moving through our operation. Quality Control is the final checkpoint before our work reaches the customer. As a Quality Control Specialist, you inspect incoming, in-process, outsourced, and finished material to confirm it meets company standards, customer requirements, and job specifications. You make decisions based on measurements, documentation, and facts — not assumptions. This role carries responsibility. Every department feeds Quality Control, and every job must be cleared before it reaches the customer. You are responsible for protecting the customer from defects while helping production continue to flow. This is not an office-only quality role. This is hands-on manufacturing quality control in an active shop environment.

Benefits Direct hire position Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off starting at 90 days Life insurance Shortterm disability and supplemental coverage options Performance and attendancebased incentives Ongoing training and skill development Crosstraining and advancement opportunities Stable, fulltime work with overtime opportunities What You'll Do Perform visual inspections to identify defects, damage, irregularities, and workmanship issues Perform dimensional inspections to verify size, tolerance, and accuracy throughout processing Inspect incoming material before processing begins Inspect inprocess material as it moves through production Complete final inspections before material is released for shipment Verify outsourced material meets requirements before returning to production flow Inspect packaging, labeling, and order condition before customer shipment Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other inspection equipment Read and follow work orders, job documentation, inspection requirements, and customer specifications Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and traceability documentation Verify work orders are correctly documented and routed to the next operation Identify, document, and report nonconforming material immediately Communicate with production, shipping, and leadership to resolve quality issues Help keep material moving without sacrificing inspection accuracy What We Expect You pay attention to details that others miss You make decisions based on facts, measurements, and documentation You move with urgency while maintaining accuracy You do not pass material that fails to meet specification You communicate quality issues early before they become customer problems You take ownership of your decisions and back them up with documentation You understand that quality and throughput both matter You do not skip steps, fudge tolerances, or look the other way You can stand behind your call when material is good, bad, or questionable You show up reliably and understand that attendance matters Required Qualifications 2+ years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment Experience using measuring or inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, or similar equipment Experience completing quality records, inspection logs, reports, work orders, or similar documentation Ability to follow work instructions, inspection requirements, and quality procedures Basic math and measurement skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Ability to communicate clearly when something does not meet requirements Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications Quality control experience in steel, metal processing, fabrication, machining, grinding, or industrial manufacturing Experience reading blueprints, shop drawings, customer specifications, or production documentation Experience with traceability records, nonconforming material reports, or quality documentation systems Experience inspecting machined, ground, cut, or processed metal parts Experience with packaging, labeling, shipping readiness, or final release checks Forklift, crane, or material handling experience Familiarity with 5S, continuous improvement, or organized inspection work areas What Winning Looks Like Nothing leaves the building out of specification Quality issues are caught internally before the customer ever sees them Documentation is accurate, complete, and reflects reality Material is inspected and routed correctly Production and shipping are not waiting on Quality Control unnecessarily Questionable parts are flagged quickly and resolved correctly The team moves fast without getting sloppy The operation runs better because Quality Control protects both quality and throughput Why Precision Steel Quality Control is not just paperwork, and it is not just inspection.
