Job Description

As a Chemical Production Associate, you must have the general competence to follow simple written procedures for shell and electrode plating. You will work under close supervision with simple oral and written instructions to do pre-plate and post-plate clean-up. Work involves placing a proper number of parts in baskets or on racks and following a sequence of steps for immersing the product in chemical baths. Other work functions include processing products through the cleaning and rinsing tanks as well as the dryer. You will be required to exercise extreme care during daily functions to avoid damage to shells or electrodes. You will be required to perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Department Supervisor.
Tasks:
Material Handling of (incoming) bulk chemicals in 55-gallon drums or other similar containers. Hazardous waste handling.
Tank Additions:
Following written instructions from the department supervisor (or others) to make required chemical additions to process solutions.
Tank Maintenance:
Following written instructions from the department supervisor (or others) to dump and make up new process solutions. General housekeeping in the department.
Safety:
You must maintain a clean, uncluttered and safe work environment by observing and practicing high standards of health and safety. This includes wearing appropriate attire, such as protective safety glasses, appropriate closed-toed shoes and any other safety required gear where applicable.
Requirements:
Use of basic inspection equipment Basic computer skills Ability to read gauges and instruments Chemical handling safety Good eye/hand coordination High School or Equivalent Basic math, reading and writing Repetitive lifting of 25-30 lbs The Chemical Production Associate must be flexible with job scheduling to meet the overall needs of the company and the Plating Department. A close working relationship must be maintained with Wirers, Unwirers, fellow Chemical Production Associates, and Plating Supervisor. A slight working knowledge of bright dipping and electroplating would be helpful but is not necessary. Good attendance is required for this position.
