Temp-to-Hire Job Order #: 126588 Position Overview Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Plate Fitter to join a growing fabrication team in Claremore. This position is responsible for assembling and fitting metal plates and structural components according to blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications. The Plate Fitter plays a key role in preparing components for welding and final assembly while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoys hands-on fabrication work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Required Experience & Skills High school diploma or GED preferred Ability to accurately read a tape measure Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and shop drawings Basic knowledge of metal fabrication and fitting practices Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Previous fabrication or manufacturing experience preferred Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Essential Duties & Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work instructions Measure, mark, and position metal plates and structural components for assembly Fit and align components to ensure proper preparation for welding and final assembly Use hand tools, grinders, measuring equipment, and fabrication tools safely and accurately Inspect materials and completed fit-ups to verify quality and dimensional accuracy Assist with moving raw materials and finished products throughout the facility Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company safety procedures and fabrication standards Perform additional fabrication and production duties as assigned by supervisors Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a plate fitter or structural fitter Experience working in heavy fabrication or industrial manufacturing environments Familiarity with welding preparation and fabrication processes Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift Ability to safely use fabrication tools while wearing required PPE Comfortable working in a physically demanding manufacturing environment around heavy steel and industrial equipment Work Environment Heavy industrial fabrication and manufacturing facility Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity Exposure to fabrication equipment, grinders, metal materials, and industrial machinery Team-oriented workplace with opportunities to develop advanced fabrication skills and advance within the company Why You'll Want This Opportunity Competitive starting pay of $20.00/hour Stable Monday-Friday first-shift schedule Long-term temp-to-hire opportunity Weekly pay Opportunity to build valuable fabrication and fitting skills in a growing manufacturing environment Supportive team with excellent opportunities for career advancement Ready to Apply?
