Key Responsibilities Assist in fabricating, repairing, and assembling metal parts and equipment Operate tools such as grinders, cutters, MIG welders, calipers, and clamps Read and follow blueprints, measurements, and welding plans accurately Set up components for welding as needed and assist with layout planning Perform grinding, painting, scrapping, and prepping work for welding operations Inspect welded components for defects or flaws to ensure quality standards Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all plant safety regulations Follow all safety protocols, time management expectations, and production procedures Requirements Skills and Knowledge - Shop Hand / Welder Helper Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a similar industrial role preferred Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently and perform physically demanding tasks Comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and moving around the facility for 12-hour shifts Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret blueprints and measurements Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively with supervisors Good attendance and punctuality are essential for success in this role AWS welding certification is a plus, but not required (relevant experience accepted) Education and Experience - Shop Hand / Welder Helper High school diploma or equivalent Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Ability to meet production workflow with quality assurance, safety-minded, and attention to detail. Abide by and follow all OSHA rules and regulations.
