Production Assistant

We are a small Queer Woman Owned Wholesale Bakery. We are focused on nostalgic, handmade desserts, salty snacks, catering, events and wholesale. We are looking for the right person to join our small but mighty bakery.

This is a physically active, hands on bakery position ideal for someone who enjoys detailed production, consistency, and working as part of a small team. After training you will be working on your own but will have the owner/baker in the kitchen working with you. $18/hourP/T 2-4 days a week. Weds, Thurs, and Friday to start12pm-6pm for training, and shift will be very close to these hours, if not exactly. Additional days may become available after training and 90 day probation period. Opportunity for increased responsibility and pay with the proper skill set and after training period.

-Cookie ProductionPrecisely weighing dough portionsForming uniform cookie dough ballsTracking production accurately-Sugar WorkMaking Cereal BarsForming, Cutting, and Packaging bars Peanut Brittle ProductionButter Toffees Production-General cleaning and maintaining an organized workspaceAssisting with additional bakery production tasks as needed.

Requirements:

Current Food Handler's CardComfortable standing and moving throughout shift Able to perform repetitive production work with consistency and attention to detail. Dependable, punctual, and organized.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn the systems of Sweet & Salty Pdx. Bakery or Kitchen experience is a requirement. Bonus points for having sugar work experience.
