- Job Description
- The General Production Worker is responsible for washing and sanitizing totes and containers, supporting tanker off-loading operations, and performing general production tasks in a paint manufacturing facility.
This role involves operating cleaning equipment, using hand and power tools, and eventually driving a forklift full time after direct hire, while following strict safety and hygiene protocols.
- Responsibilities
- + Wash and sanitize totes and containers using hoses, brushes, and appropriate cleaning agents in accordance with safety and hygiene guidelines.
+ Inspect totes for damage, wear, or defects and promptly report any issues to the supervisor.
+ Operate cleaning equipment and tools, including hand tools and power tools, to complete tote washing and related production tasks.
+ Follow established protocols for handling and disposing of cleaning materials and waste in a safe and compliant manner.
+ Flex to different departments as needed to assist with tanker off-loading and other production activities.
+ Use pumps to process incoming tanker trucks and ensure materials are transferred correctly and safely.
+ Read and interpret bills of materials to confirm correct materials and quantities for processing.
+ Confirm the appropriate tanks where incoming materials will be pumped and verify accuracy before processing.
+ Perform general production, assembly, packaging, and inspection tasks as assigned to support overall operations.
+ Operate forklifts safely and efficiently, with the expectation of driving a forklift full time after going direct.
+ Collaborate with team members to ensure totes are cleaned and available in a timely manner to meet operational needs.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in accordance with facility standards and procedures.
- Essential Skills
- + Proven forklift experience and ability to operate a forklift safely in a production environment.
+ Experience with tote washing or similar cleaning and sanitization tasks in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
+ Ability to use hand tools and power tools for cleaning, assembly, and general production work.
+ Familiarity with machine operation, packaging, and inspection processes in a production or logistics environment.
+ Ability to use pumps to process incoming tanker trucks and handle liquid materials safely.
+ Capability to read and understand bills of materials and follow written instructions accurately.
+ Attention to detail when confirming tanks and material destinations to prevent errors in processing.
+ Willingness and ability to become DOT trained as required for handling and processing tanker materials.
+ Comfort working in conditions where getting wet during tote cleaning is common.
+ Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate tasks and meet production timelines.
+ Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Experience in general labor, production, or assembly work within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
+ Background in general production tasks such as packaging, inspection, and machine operation.
+ Understanding of basic safety and hygiene practices related to industrial cleaning and material handling.
+ Ability to follow standard operating procedures and facility protocols consistently.
+ Willingness to cross-train in multiple departments to support changing operational needs.
+ Reliability and strong work ethic, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $21.
00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
