Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description This contract role offers the opportunity to work as a general production worker in a lumber processing facility that manufactures engineered wood products. You will support daily production by operating machinery, handling lumber, assembling construction components, and following detailed work instructions to meet quality and safety standards. The position requires consistent attendance, the ability to stand for 8-12 hours per shift, and safely lift up to 40 pounds while working around moving equipment. Responsibilities Manufacture engineered wood products, including Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) and I-Joists, according to established specifications. Operate production equipment such as presses, saws, and glue application machines in a safe and efficient manner. Use hand and power tools, including circular saws, nail guns, and staple guns, to complete production tasks and assemblies. Pull lumber from conveyor lines, stack materials, and organize products to maintain smooth production flow. Assemble construction components and accessories for framing packages following detailed instructions and drawings. Read and follow shop drawings, job details, and written work instructions to ensure accurate production. Follow production specifications, assembly procedures, and quality standards to produce consistent, high-quality products. Enter production data into computer systems to track materials, work orders, and output accurately. Maintain a safe work environment by following safety procedures while working around moving machinery and equipment. Work in both indoor manufacturing and occasional outdoor conditions, adapting to varying temperatures and weather. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support production goals and resolve issues. Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively to team objectives. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality and be willing to work overtime as scheduled. Essential Skills Experience in general production, manufacturing, or general labor roles. Ability to operate production machinery such as presses, saws, and glue application equipment. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including circular saws, nail guns, and staple guns. Ability to read and follow shop drawings, job details, and written work instructions. Ability to read a basic tape measure and apply measurements accurately in production tasks. Comfort standing for an entire shift of 8-12 hours. Ability to safely lift and move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Basic computer skills to enter production data into computer systems. Strong focus on safety and quality with a solid work ethic. Positive team-oriented attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting production expectations. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Willingness and ability to work overtime as scheduled. Minimum age of 18 years. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a lumber processing facility or wood products manufacturing environment. Familiarity with manufacturing engineered wood products such as Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) and I-Joists. Experience assembling construction components and framing packages. Previous exposure to working around moving machinery and equipment in a production setting. Demonstrated ability to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Stayton, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.61 - $24.11/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
