General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker (Production Operator I) works as part of a team to produce quality electronic equipment in a dynamic, state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. This role flexes easily between tasks and focuses on becoming proficient in all activities within the assigned functional area, which may include assembly, SMT support, or material movement. Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble electronic equipment according to detailed written work instructions. Work across multiple production areas daily based on established patterns and operational needs. Perform assembly tasks while mostly seated, using small hand tools to build finished electronic products. Support SMT operations by pushing carts loaded with reels of PCB components to machines, involving frequent standing, walking, and pushing. Handle material movement by going to the stockroom or warehouse, gathering parts, and delivering them to the production floor, including standing, walking, and accurate counting. Deliver materials to points of consumption in response to Kanban signals to ensure continuous production flow. Accurately perform inventory transactions and record movements of materials in the system. Actively participate in Tier 1 daily management system (DMS) meetings to support communication and performance tracking. Contribute to continuous improvement projects by sharing ideas and supporting process enhancements. Keep the work area well organized, clean, and compliant with safety and quality standards. Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards in daily work. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision to support production goals. Essential Skills 01 years of related work experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Manufacturing experience preferred, particularly in general production or assembly. Familiarity with small parts and the ability to handle and assemble them accurately. Ability to read and interpret work instructions in English. Ability to use computers confidently, including familiarity with Windows-based systems. Comfort working in roles that may require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, pushing carts, and counting parts. Basic understanding of inventory transactions and material movement processes. Ability to work as part of a team and flex between different tasks and work areas. Additional Skills & Qualifications Training in and experience with Lean manufacturing principles preferred but not required. Experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or related production environments is a plus. Comfort working with small hand tools for assembly work. Exposure to Kanban or similar material replenishment systems is beneficial. Prior experience in environments that require attention to detail and cleanliness, such as food industry or other regulated industries, is helpful. The environment is laid out like a football field, beginning in one end zone with raw materials, followed by SMT and AOI machines, then the assembly and hand-add area, and ending in the packaging and shipping department. The position primarily works in the assembly and hand-add area, involving a mix of sitting for detailed assembly work with small hand tools and standing or walking when supporting SMT or material movement tasks. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and efficient material flow, supported by Kanban signals and inventory systems. Employees use computers and Windows-based applications as part of their daily work in a modern, comfortable production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.55 - $18.55/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
