Butler Coffee Lab, Butler, PA Position Summary The Production Shift Lead helps run the production floor during assigned shifts and makes sure the daily production plan is carried out effectively. Working under the direction of the Production Manager, the Production Lead provides hands-on leadership to production employees, keeps work moving, reinforces expectations, maintains quality and cleanliness standards, and helps create an organized and productive work environment. This is a working lead position. The Production Lead is expected to work alongside the team while also providing direction, answering questions, monitoring workflow, and helping employees stay focused on the priorities for the day. The Production Manager oversees production planning, scheduling, systems, staffing, inventory coordination, and overall production operations. The Production Lead focuses on executing that plan on the floor. Key Responsibilities Lead the production floor during assigned shifts and keep the team focused on daily priorities. Carry out the production schedule and work orders established by the Production Manager. Assign employees to stations, provide clear direction, and redirect work as needed. Work alongside the team in production, packaging, fulfillment, and cleaning. Monitor quality, safety, sanitation, and productivity throughout the shift. Help train and support employees in production processes and workplace expectations. Keep workspaces clean, organized, and ready for production. Communicate production issues, supply needs, equipment problems, and employee concerns to the Production Manager. Qualifications Dependable, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility for a team. Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear, respectful direction. Comfortable redirecting employees and reinforcing workplace expectations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Willingness to work alongside the production team and lead by example. Ability to stay organized and respond calmly when priorities change. Comfortable working with employees with different abilities, communication styles, and support needs. Manufacturing, food production, warehouse, fulfillment, retail operations, or leadership experience is preferred but not required. Ability to learn production processes, equipment, and systems. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position. What Success Looks Like A successful Production Lead keeps the floor moving. Employees know what they are supposed to be doing. Work orders are completed accurately and efficiently. Quality standards are maintained. Work areas stay clean and organized. Employees receive clear direction and support, and problems are communicated quickly. The Production Lead allows the Production Manager to focus on planning, scheduling, systems, and improving the overall operation by confidently handling the day-to-day execution of production.
