#89730 Job Description Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Sr Manufacturing/Production Operator (Component Level) role supporting the build, integration, and test of mission-critical electronic/mechanical hardware used in defense systems. This is a hands-on production position for professionals who thrive in a high-reliability environment-assembling complex subassemblies, performing precision wiring/soldering, executing rework/refurbishment, and ensuring hardware meets strict quality and inspection criteria for classified programs.

Pay Rate:

$27.50/hr

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. In addition, you should bring 2+ years of relevant manufacturing/production experience in environments aligned to aerospace/defense expectations-such as electronics assembly, electro-mechanical integration, cable/harness build, and disciplined build-to-print work where traceability, workmanship standards, and configuration control matter. Experience interpreting drawings/schematics, working from BOMs/work orders, and supporting test, rework, and refurbishment on production hardware is strongly aligned.

First Shift In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to: Perform complex, build-to-print production assembly (repetitive and non-repetitive) on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies (modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, cables). Read and interpret basic schematics and engineering drawings to execute correct methods, sequences, and workmanship requirements. Execute wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on subassemblies and units supporting defense mission hardware. Integrate sub-assemblies into final hardware and complete final assembly of small systems with attention to configuration and quality. Conduct basic electrical tests and document/communicate results per work instructions. Perform more complex rework and refurbishment to restore hardware/systems to specification. Use BOMs, polarity/inspection criteria, and work order tracking systems to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to resolve build issues and support continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Electronics/electro-mechanical assembly at the component and subassembly level (boards, modules, panels, frames, cable assemblies). Ability to interpret and build from schematics, drawings, and work instructions in a controlled production environment. Proficiency with hand soldering and component installation practices appropriate for high-reliability hardware. Cable harnessing skills, including routing, termination, and workmanship/inspection readiness. Strong understanding of polarity , workmanship standards, and inspection criteria to prevent escapes on mission hardware. Experience working with Bills of Material (BOM) and work order tracking/management systems to maintain configuration and traceability. Competence using measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, multimeters as applicable) and applying shop math accurately. Ability to perform basic electrical testing and support troubleshooting/rework workflows. Clear, professional communication for shift handoffs, discrepancy reporting, and coordination with cross-functional teams. Demonstrated multi-tasking and prioritization in a production setting with changing build needs. Continuous improvement mindset, including identifying opportunities to apply AI-enabled process improvements where appropriate.
