Job Description
Job Title:
1st Shift Welder Job Description This 1st Shift Welder role supports a growing manufacturing operation by fabricating and finishing metal parts for a variety of industrial applications, including projects in defense, rail, oil, gas, and coal. You will contribute directly to production by performing welding, grinding, and general labor tasks in a hands-on, fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on quality, reliability, and safety. Responsibilities Perform welding operations on metal components according to job specifications and quality standards. Use grinders and related tools to clean, smooth, and finish welded or fabricated parts. Handle and move materials and finished parts safely, including operating a forklift if trained and authorized. Follow manufacturing work instructions, production schedules, and job travelers to complete assigned tasks on time. Inspect welds and finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to required tolerances. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, equipment, and materials. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including steel-toed boots and eye protection, and follow all safety policies. Support general labor and production tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production output. Collaborate with a small production team, communicating effectively about job status, issues, and improvement ideas. Essential Skills At least 6 months of welding experience in a production, shop, or similar environment. At least 6 months of experience working in manufacturing or industrial production. Ability to use grinders and other hand and power tools to prepare and finish metal parts. Strong attendance and reliability, with a proven record of showing up consistently and on time. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, machinery, and metal components. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work safely in a manufacturing environment. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials, and perform hands-on work throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofCRESSON, PA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
