Job Title:

CVD/Heat-Treater Operator Description:

The Machine Operator is responsible for the set-up, monitoring, and basic maintenance of CVD coating machines. This position largely entails loading and unloading of machines, and basic preventative maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operation of Vacuum Heat-treating equipment experience would be preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO9001
• Able to read blueprints and measuring parts to print specifications.
• Ability to use or willingness to learn various measuring devices. Micrometers, Dial Calibers, Telescoping gauges, and etc.
• Loads machines and ensures product is sufficiently clean and set up according to company specifications.
• Enters product information and desired coating information according to customer requirements.
• Monitors the coating process, trouble-shooting the machine and process.
• Minimizes equipment downtime through preventative maintenance procedures, including maintaining preventative maintenance logs.
• Assists with other projects, as needed, performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

• Basic written math and communication skills
• Detail Oriented.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check, including other local, state or federally required checks

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or

GED Physical Demands:

The physical demands described below must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
• Occasional lifting and moving of up to 80 lbs.
• Must be able to stand 6-10 hours a day

Work Environment:

• This position is in a manufacturing setting.
• Indoor work which may not be temperature controlled.
• Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
