Job Description
Summary:
As a Production Assistant, it's responsibility to report to the Production manager every day to see what needs to be completed. The Production Assistant position will be trained in all aspects of the reconditioning processes. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Cooper Bearings/Avoca Rail Product Lines Production Assistant:
- Breakdown railroad wheel components
- Will load the dirty wheel components into the parts washer
- Will deburr parts using a grinding wheel
- Inspect journal boxes and other locomotive parts and components to ensure each part is with in specifications
- Use hand tools and specialize equipment to perform duties
- Use micrometers, assorted hand tools, assorted air tool and power tools to perform duties
- Follow proper safety precautions as listed in the CBX safety manual
- Ensures proper safety equipment is worn
- Records necessary information on Inspection/Production sheets as required.
- May be trained and certified as forklift operator
- Will perform daily cleanup of shop
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
