Job Description

Position:
Bobst Cutter Helper Department:
Offset Department Reporting to:
Die Cutting Manager Summary:
Daily responsibility of pulling pallets of printed material for Bobst Die cutters and preparing it for processing. Load the logistics section of the machines and gather empty pallets for reuse. Help operators with general machine maintenance along with changeovers. Essential duties/
Responsibilities:
Duties performed by employees in this position will include, but not be limited to the following: Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including Lock Out Tag out. Inspect paper quality and verify quantity for production. Verifies job specifications against the job jackets and or specified size on schedule. Assists with maintaining equipment for optimal operation, including preventative and scheduled maintenance. Be proficient with the Aerator/Jogger. Ensure that the correct pallets are at the proper machine. Remove loads from the machine and place them in WIP area. Challenge run speed throughout the shift and during each job change. Empty waste bins and keep machine area clean. Ensure that paper is not piled under the machine or in discharge area at end of shift. Assist the operator with Preventive maintenance and other general repairs. Ensure safe work zones. Cover breaks and lunch for coworkers. Ensure all pallets are consumed in the ERP system. Complete all paperwork assigned to your position.

Employees constantly work near moving mechanical parts and lift trucks. Employee works in a common area shared with others with no division of space. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals found in the plant such as Isopropyl acetate, ethyl alcohol, Speedy, lacquer thinner, etc. May experience ambient temperature extremes on hot, humid days. Required to wear hair nets, beard nets (if applicable), safety glasses, mask, and hearing protection in the manufacturing area.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED. Industry experience is preferred but not required. Successful completion of a minimum of six (6) weeks of in-house on-board training.

Position requires employee to stand, walk and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to talk or hear, climb, stoop, bend, and reach with hands and arms. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 85lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90lbs. Repetitive movement of hands, fingers, and wrists. Good color vision is required to distinguish printed shades/colors.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to measure to 1/16" and convert the measurement to appropriate decimal equivalent.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed, written, or oral instructions.
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate with supervisors and Managers to determine production needs and concerns and to pass this information along to other operators. Ability to write clear messages on downtime logs and shift paperwork.
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
