Job Description

The Engineerng Production Planner is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring production activities to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery of products. This role works closely with operations, procurement, inventory, and sales teams to balance resources, meet customer requirements, and optimize production performance. Solar Light designs and manufactures precision solar simulators, meteorological instruments, sources, standards and calibration services to assess the impact of sunlight on human health and the environment. Our products are the go-to instrumentation for SPF measurement of sun protection products, monitoring UV disinfection systems, atmospheric monitoring, and solar cell testing. Essential Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and capacity constraints. Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to meet output goals. Identify scheduling conflicts or delays and implement corrective actions. Review material requirements and ensure timely availability of components and raw materials. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to avoid shortages or excess. Generate work orders and ensure all production documents are accurate and up to date. Track production progress and communicate status updates to internal stakeholders. Analyze bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and resource utilization to recommend improvements. Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase production efficiency. Communicate any changes in schedules, priorities, or capacity issues promptly. Support customer service and sales teams with accurate lead-time and delivery information. Support forecasting and demand planning activities as needed. Assist in assembly, production or admin areas as required. Minimum Requirements BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations or Supply Chain 5+ years experience with Lean Manufacturing, Mini Factories and Kanban inventory management is required.

• Proficiency using production planning tools (Asana preferred) is required. This includes the ability to train other production personnel and implement Asana tools in production to use during multiple weekly meetings. 5+ years experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain roles (manufacturing environment preferred) is required. 5+ years experience in electronic, mechanical, or optical assembly preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Additional Experience would be a plus Strong knowledge of QuickBooks systems. Familiar with ISO9001 manufacturing practices Developing and or revising written work instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 10 lbs frequently.
