Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing sheet metal components used in various industrial, commercial, and residential applications. Your expertise will ensure the precision and quality of metalwork projects, contributing to the safety, efficiency, and durability of our systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of mechanical systems, utilize advanced tools, and uphold strict safety standards while delivering top-notch craftsmanship. Responsibilities Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to accurately fabricate and install sheet metal components. Measure, cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts using hand tools such as snips, hammers, and power tools including shears and presses. Perform manual handling tasks to lift and position heavy or awkward metal pieces safely and efficiently. Repair or replace damaged sheet metal parts within mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance. Use welding techniques to join metal pieces where necessary, maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems involving sheet metal components and assist with vehicle maintenance tasks when required. Follow all safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during fabrication or installation processes. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, ohmmeters (to measure electrical resistance), and other diagnostic tools related to automotive electrical systems or mechanical repair. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about project progress or system repairs. Requirements Proven experience working with mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal fabrication, repair, or installation. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools such as drills and saws, welding equipment, and power shears. Strong manual handling skills for lifting heavy materials safely in accordance with safety regulations. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and automotive service is a plus. Familiarity with mechanical systems repair including automotive electrical systems using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Experience working with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) environments is preferred. Ability to read schematics accurately for mechanical repair or system troubleshooting purposes. Understanding of safety regulations relevant to fabrication shops or industrial environments. Basic knowledge of diesel mechanics is advantageous but not mandatory.
