Welder/Grinder Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Welder/Grinder to perform MIG welding on steel and handle grinding and sanding of their own welds. The projects primarily involve handrails and stairway assemblies, though they can vary greatly as they are custom-made. No blueprint reading or fitting experience is required, as parts will be fitted and tacked prior to your involvement. You will mainly perform flat horizontal welding, with occasional vertical down welding. This role offers a diverse workload, with different projects each week, avoiding the monotony of production welding. Responsibilities Perform hard wire MIG welding on steel. Grind and sand own welds to ensure quality finish. Work on various custom projects including handrails and stairway assemblies. Adapt to different projects on a weekly basis. Receive and apply critical feedback from the Quality Assurance team to maintain high standards. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year of MIG welding experience or relevant schooling. Experience operating a grinder. Possession of own welding gear, including shield, jacket, and gloves. Ability to be coachable and open to learning. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in fabrication or fitting is a plus. Forklift experience is beneficial, with training available if needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 5:30 am to 2 pm, with potential overtime until 4 pm on most days. We provide a minimum of 24-hour notice for any overtime, typically aiming for a week's notice. The role is based in a small shop that is not climate controlled. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
