Description:
Northway Industries is seeking a Quality Assistant to help promote and maintain quality standards throughout our manufacturing operations. This position focuses on supporting employees, providing training, and helping teams understand what quality looks like in their work areas. The Quality Assistant works closely with production, engineering, and management to identify potential quality concerns, communicate standards, and support continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and helping others succeed.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities Train and coach employees on Northway's quality standards and expectations. Help team members identify quality issues within their work areas before products move to the next operation. Answer questions and provide guidance regarding quality requirements, specifications, and workmanship standards. Perform routine quality checks and audits to verify standards are being followed. Assist in investigating quality issues and identifying root causes. Work with production teams to prevent defects and reduce rework. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and process consistency. Communicate quality concerns and improvement opportunities to supervisors and management. Help develop and maintain quality training materials, reference guides, and visual standards. Promote a culture where every employee takes ownership of quality. Qualifications Preferred Manufacturing experience is a plus. Ability to learn to read and understand manufacturing documentation, drawings, and work instructions. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work positively with employees at all levels of the organization. Strong attention to detail. Problem-solving mindset. Ability to learn and apply Northway quality standards. Basic computer skills. Skills & Attributes Positive and approachable attitude. Comfortable teaching and training others.
