Job Title:
Production Operator Job Description This role supports the safe and efficient operation of extrusion and plastic molding equipment in a production environment. You will assist operators with machine setup and monitoring, handle materials throughout the production process, and help maintain product quality and a clean, organized work area. Responsibilities Assist operators in running extrusion and plastic molding machinery, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Monitor equipment during operation to identify basic issues, irregularities, or malfunctions and promptly report them to staff. Perform basic quality checks on raw plastic materials to ensure they meet required standards before production. Inspect finished packaging rolls for visible defects and verify they meet basic quality specifications. Handle and move stock, including loading and unloading materials from machines and designated storage areas. Trim excess materials from finished products to ensure they meet required dimensions and appearance standards. Clear and organize work areas by removing scrap, debris, and unused materials to maintain a safe and efficient production environment. Follow production schedules and instructions to support continuous operation on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. Support general production tasks as needed, including basic machine operation and general labor duties. Essential Skills Experience or strong interest in production, general labor, or general production work. Ability to assist with machine operation in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Capability to stand for long shifts in a factory environment. Ability to lift factory materials safely and repeatedly throughout the shift. Willingness to work a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (Saturday-Monday, then Tuesday-Wednesday, then Thursday-Friday). Flexibility to work either 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shifts as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in machine operation, machine operating, or extrusion and plastic molding is beneficial and may be compensated at a higher rate. Knowledge in general production or manufacturing environments is an advantage. Comfort working with packaging rolls and plastic materials. Strong attention to basic quality standards and willingness to learn more advanced quality procedures. Reliability and consistency in following instructions, schedules, and safety practices. You will work around industrial machinery and packaging equipment, handling raw plastic materials and finished packaging rolls. Shifts follow a 2-2-3 rotating schedule, typically covering 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The role requires standing for most of the shift and lifting factory materials regularly. The work area emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with a focus on safety and efficient machine operation. Appropriate industrial attire and safety gear are expected to support safe work practices around machines and materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington Court House, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
