Job Title:
Production Labor Job Description This role involves using molds and presses in the production process to efficiently produce parts with minimal supervision. The position requires working on manufacturing assignments according to written procedures and recognizing deviations from standard practices. Collaboration with team members and maintaining material quality, consistency, safety, and proper documentation are essential aspects of this role. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor calendering equipment to produce sheet, roll, or layered materials to exact specifications. Ensure material quality, consistency, safety, and proper documentation within a production environment. Monitor material flow to ensure uniformity, smoothness, and absence of defects. Inspect materials using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments. Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and roll changes. Read and interpret production orders, blueprints, and material specifications. Document production data, including thickness readings, lot numbers, and quality checks. Collaborate with quality inspectors and production supervisors to resolve material issues. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Operate press machine to create parts using molds. Clean and prime parts with appropriate chemicals and solutions. Measure stock to ensure correct thickness and length. Place materials by hand into molds, mandrels, or build fixtures. Weigh stock and scrap for salvage. Monitor production for defective parts to ensure early detection. Use production equipment and tools, such as calipers and scales, regularly. Ensure materials handling and recordkeeping meet company and ISO standards. Follow internal safety policies and procedures at all times. Maintain a work area free of safety hazards and clutter, including setup and cleanup at shift start and end. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Read a tape measure and use hand tools to fabricate parts. Production line experience. Mechanical aptitude. Attention to detail. Hand dexterity. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with swing medium press molding. Skilled in using calipers, depth gauges, micrometers, and other measuring equipment. Work Environment Work in a manufacturing environment with variable conditions, such as temperature instability and exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or vapors. Be prepared for exposure to solvents and other industrial chemicals. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcminnville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.30 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
