Job Title:
Production Worker Job Description The Production Worker follows detailed assembly instructions and standardized processes to build high-quality products in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This role involves hands-on assembly, troubleshooting and repairing issues, supporting continuous improvement, and helping maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production line. Responsibilities Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to build products accurately and efficiently. Use hand tools and production equipment to perform assembly tasks according to specifications. Troubleshoot and repair equipment or assembly failures as needed to maintain production flow. Report any issues related to quality, safety, processes, equipment, or materials to the Production Supervisor or Team Lead in a timely manner. Perform visual and functional inspections to ensure products meet quality standards. Provide hands-on job function training to coworkers and assist in cross-training efforts as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Support and adhere to all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies. Understand and comply with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. Follow and support the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and work instructions. Support and work toward achieving relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined in the goal tree. Engage positively with coworkers and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Operate general production and manufacturing equipment, including machine operation and machine operating tasks as required. Perform general labor duties such as picking, packing, order picking, and material handling as needed. Use tools such as tape measures, RF scanners, and other production-related devices to complete tasks accurately. Assist with carpentry-related tasks or mechanical assembly work where required. Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment, if qualified, to move products and materials safely.For Peripheral Tech responsibilities:
access drawings and procedures through SAP and operate one to three peripheral assembly cells. Essential Skills Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures consistently. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on assembly experience using hand tools and production equipment. Troubleshooting experience to identify and repair failures in products or equipment. General production and general labor experience, including working on production lines. Inspection experience to verify product quality and compliance with specifications. Ability to read and comprehend written procedures and work instructions. Ability to access drawings and procedures via computer systems. Dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination for precise assembly work. Ability to frequently stand, sit, walk, and reach within arm's length, as well as stoop and kneel during tasks. Ability to regularly lift and move up to 30 pounds safely. Ability to operate lift assist equipment to move assemblies weighing more than 30 pounds. Effective communication proficiency to report issues and collaborate with team members. Strong organizational skills to maintain order and structure in work tasks and work area. Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently and meet production goals. Understanding and support of Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies. Ability to understand and adhere to statutory and regulatory compliance obligations. Ability to understand, support, and follow Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions. Ability to understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined in the goal tree. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to engage and work cooperatively with others. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in production, assembly, or machine operation. Experience with hand tools, mechanical assembly, and mechanical systems. Experience in general production, general labor, or manufacturing support roles. Exposure to carpentry, blueprint reading, or working with tape measures in a production setting. Experience with picking, packing, order picking, and using RF scanners in a warehouse or production environment. Forklift operation experience and familiarity with material-handling equipment. Experience operating multiple machine cells or peripheral assembly cells. Familiarity with SAP or similar systems for accessing drawings and procedures. Comfort working with key performance indicators (KPIs) and production targets. Ability and willingness to assist with training coworkers and sharing best practices. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled, and organized manufacturing facility. You will work on production lines and in assembly areas using hand tools, mechanical equipment, and machine operating stations. Tasks may involve general production, machine operation, inspection, picking, packing, order picking, forklift operation, and use of RF scanners, tape measures, and other standard manufacturing tools. The role requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, reaching, stooping, and kneeling, as well as regularly lifting up to 30 pounds and using lift assist equipment for heavier assemblies. The facility emphasizes safety, adherence to quality and environmental policies, and structured processes supported by an Integrated Management System and computer-based access to drawings and procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salisbury, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
