Splits59 is looking for an experienced freelance Pattern Maker to support development across our performance and lifestyle categories.

The role is hybrid:

two days a week on-site in our Los Angeles office (Tuesday and Thursday), with the balance of the work done remotely against development deadlines. You'll follow each style from first proto through PP approval and TOP, working within our Design and Technical Design standards. The work runs on a fixed development calendar, so precision, organization, and on-time delivery matter as much as pattern skill.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pattern development Translate design sketches into production-ready patterns, accounting for the stretch, drape, and shrinkage of each fabric Work from existing base blocks or develop new blocks as needed Grade patterns and maintain grade rules Revise patterns from fit comments through PP approval Tech packs (Excel) Build and maintain tech pack sheets: measurements, how-to-measure, construction, rib and trim specs, pattern sheet, and grade rules/graded specs Update specs after each fit session Fit and collaboration Partner with Design and Product Development on intended fit and aesthetic Follow up with factories, domestic and overseas, on pattern updates and corrections

QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of pattern making; activewear or performance experience a plus Experience across both lifestyle and performance categories Deep knowledge of garment construction, sewing operations, and grading, with a bias toward production-friendly solutions Proficient in Gerber (AccuMark), Adobe Illustrator, and Excel Precise, organized, and reliable against a fixed calendar Clear communicator with designers, technical designers, and factories
