We are looking for a talented Pattern Maker to join our Skilled Trades team! This position will be based at our Kohler, Wisconsin location. We specialize in manufacturing high-quality cast iron products.
Crafting Excellence:
Your Responsibilities Inspect and replace as required all pins and bushings used on the Herman flasks, pattern carriers and pattern stools. Make all necessary pattern changes, rim changes, insert changes, and change pattern ID numbers, logos, etc. Repair all seams on rims, inserts, etc. Perform all duties in casting urethane masters, patterns, gating and core boxes. Perform all duties associated with mold fabrication. Perform all required bench operations to construct, revise and repair patterns, Dies and core boxes in accordance with the specified guidelines. Perform bench work incidental to assembling components and finishing completed jobs. Perform emergency repairs under the direction of Pattern Shop supervision Perform required operations to repair damaged or worn areas on patterns in production status. Provide preventive and normal maintenance on all patterns and related equipment: e.g., sprue receivers, misc. wear pads and plates, etc. Set-up and operate proficiently a variety of machines and equipment in the department. Be capable of using Computerized Maintenance Management software to create work notifications, look-up and order parts, print work orders, and enter time confirmations. Work from drawings, samples, sketches, specifications and verbal instructions. Must have sufficient knowledge of shop math to make calculations for shrinkage and draft allowance to maintain dimensions, contours, profiles, etc. Must have sound understanding of materials, tooling and tool application. Must be proficient in the use of all measuring instruments to layout, check and verify all dimensions and tolerances required of the trade. Must acquire and maintain PIV certification for safe transport of patterns, carriers, coreboxes, etc. Must provide own tools. Here's the qualifications we are looking for: Skills/Requirements Key Qualifications Must be able to work in the US without restriction or sponsorship. Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes. Must be at least 18 years old. High School diploma/GED required. Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to meet Kohler Company's MVR Guidelines and maintain good standing. Must achieve a passing score on technical skills test Preferred Qualifications Technical diploma in Auto Body, Collision Repair, Machining, Carpentry, or a related skilled trade. Hands-on experience in auto body repair, carpentry, or machining, whether gained through professional work or side projects. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across multiple disciplines in a hybrid role. Experience operating machining equipment or performing precision fabrication is a plus. Ability to read measuring tools, blueprints, or technical drawings is preferred.
