2nd Shift 3rd Shift Weekend Days Weekend Nights Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a Machine Shop Technician . In this position, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the machine shop by maintaining a steady flow of materials, tools, and supplies to the workstations. This role is crucial in minimizing downtime and supporting the production team to meet their targets.
Responsibilities:
Material Handling:
Transport raw materials, components, and finished products between storage areas and workstations.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of materials and tools and replenish as needed to prevent shortages.
Tool Preparation:
Ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are available and in good working condition for the production team.
Workstation Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing waste and unnecessary items from workstations.
Communication:
Coordinate with production supervisors and team members to understand their needs and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Documentation:
Keep accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and any issues encountered during the shift.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Higher education a plus. One year experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment is preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Manual dexterity and the ability to operate machinery and tools.
