On-Site Manufacturing Facility Position Summary We are seeking a Manufacturing Digital Work Instructions Contractor to lead the hands-on development of digital work instructions for a manufacturing facility. The contractor will work directly with experienced operators and technicians to capture critical manufacturing knowledge and convert it into visual, tablet-based work instructions using the Augmentir platform. This position is ideal for an experienced manufacturing professional who understands plant-floor processes and can translate technical knowledge into clear, practical documentation. Responsibilities Interview experienced operators and maintenance technicians performing critical work. Observe and document manufacturing processes, equipment operation, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting. Capture photos, videos, equipment drawings, warning signs, common mistakes, and troubleshooting knowledge. Convert plant-floor knowledge into visual digital work instructions. Develop tablet-based equipment navigation using photographs, drawings, and simplified 3D equipment views.
Develop standardized work-instruction templates for:
Startups Shutdowns Changeovers AM/PM activities Troubleshooting Safety Quality checks Employee qualification Organize digital content by area, line, machine, equipment section, and task. Test completed instructions with inexperienced employees. Observe how employees use the instructions and identify areas requiring improvement. Revise and improve content based on testing and feedback. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams. Ensure documented procedures accurately reflect current plant practices. Track assigned work and maintain organized project documentation. Support implementation and adoption of completed digital work instructions. Required Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, maintenance, engineering, or technical environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and plant-floor processes. Experience developing SOPs, Standard Work, Work Instructions, or technical documentation. Strong interviewing and communication skills. Ability to work directly with operators and technicians to capture practical knowledge. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Ability to turn complex processes into clear, step-by-step instructions. Strong attention to detail. Comfortable working on a manufacturing floor. Comfortable using computers, tablets, cameras, and digital documentation tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Augmentir or similar digital work-instruction platforms. Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience. Maintenance or Reliability experience. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience. Experience with MES, CMMS, or manufacturing technology. CAD or equipment drawing experience. Experience with 3D equipment visualization. Experience developing training or employee qualification materials. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing professional who can communicate effectively with experienced plant employees, understand how equipment and processes work, and transform that knowledge into clear, usable digital work instructions. Experience with Augmentir is valuable, but the strongest candidates will be those who understand manufacturing processes, technical documentation, and frontline employee usability .
