Remanufacturing AssociateDescription:
Verify conformance of bearingponents (cones) through visual and dimensional inspection using measurement instruments such as electronic bench gaging, dial indicators, and feeler gages. Accept or reject parts according to industry and customer specifications. Perform minor repairs including buffing, de-burring, and grinding using hand held rotary tools. Maintain equipment and work stations through daily housekeeping and preventative maintenance activities.Overall Purpose:
Inspect and repair bearingponents (cones) in a safe manner,plaint with all requirements, while achieving delivery and productivity performance expectations.Essential Functions:
Uses a master to set up the gauge block in order to properly measure the roller value. Determines the acceptability of roller sets based upon the values obtained. Scraps any non-conforming rollers that are found. Sets up closing press by changing dies based on order specifications. Aligns work piece against fixtures under ram as specified. Moves controls to lower ram that shapes parts or presses parts together. Fills cages with properly dimensioned/oriented tapered rollers. Places base cone into cone assemblies. Loads full cone assembly into closing press and operates press to close cage. 7. Ensures that the application of a rust preventative is applied to thepleted cone assembly. Operates an electric pallet jack. Aligns work piece against fixtures under ram as specified. May tend machine to separate parts orpress parts preparatory to assembly. Changes die heads to amodate changes in bearing sizes. Changes the mandrel on the buffing wheel to the proper size for the inner race being buffed. Turns on the collection vent at the beginning of each shift and empties out any excess debris found within. Applies a flame retardant powder to the collection vent in order to prevent the debris particles from catching on fire. Ensures that materials are heated for the amount of time necessary for the annealing process to bepleted. Removes all materials from the furnace after the annealing process in order to cool to room temperature. Visually inspects rollers under magnification, for conformance with AAR and customer specifications. Indicates acceptability of rollers through the use of a non-permanent marking pen.Physical Demands & Frequency:
Requires reaching, lifting, pushing/pulling, feeling and near acuity. A.Position:
Standing/walking- 80%, bending - 20%. B.Weights & Force:
Up to 50 plus pounds. C.Use of Controls:
Operates cone press controls requiring both hands. D. Vision must be normal (20/20). Correctional lenses are acceptable. E. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to handle, manipulate or feel objects, tools, and/or controlsGeneral Educational Development:
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Information may be presented in written, oral or diagrammatic form and requires amon sense understanding to be applied in order to carry out the instructions.Qualifications/Training:
Must be able to understand and read decimals. Candidates shall successfullyplete a training program and as applicable qualification requirements, as defined by the responsible functional manager. New hires shall demonstrate satisfactory performance during new hire probationary periodTraining:
