Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Worker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal structures and products, ensuring safety standards and technical specifications are met consistently. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. Operate a variety of fabrication machinery including press brake machines, CNC laser cutting systems, plasma cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and forming machines to shape and assemble sheet metal components. Set up and calibrate machining tools and equipment to ensure precise cuts and formations according to project specifications. Perform welding tasks using appropriate techniques to join metal parts securely while adhering to safety protocols. Utilize precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality control inspections throughout the fabrication process. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety standards in production, handling tools properly, and adhering to safety protocol guidelines. Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, ensuring all parts fit accurately according to shop math calculations and technical requirements. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Worker or in a similar manufacturing role involving metal fabrication and machine operation. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Proficiency in operating CNC equipment such as laser cutters, milling machines, lathes, plasma cutters, stamping presses, and press brake machines. Skilled in welding techniques including MIG, TIG or arc welding with adherence to safety standards. Familiarity with measuring instruments for quality inspection and precision measurement in machining processes. Knowledge of shop math, basic math skills necessary for fabrication calculations, and understanding of safety standards in production environments. Ability to operate hand tools efficiently and perform forming operations using various forming machines. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection during all stages of fabrication. Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills for machine setup and troubleshooting.
