JOB SUMMARY

This position is for night shift (B1 Forming). The Repulp Operator is responsible for dumping the paper onto a conveyor to fill the pulping machine. Throughout the day, they will monitor paper, water, and chemical levels to ensure the consistency of the pulp.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, environmental compliance, and follow all PPE and food regulation standards. Place recycled paper on pulper conveyor, as the process demands, cut, and remove binding from the paper as it is placed on the conveyor. Drive fork-lift and clamp truck to move bales of fiber. Conduct daily cleaning and organization of pulper area. Push buttons and turn valves to admit water to specified consistency. Operate a compactor to remove trash and dumps trash bales into dumpster. Must be comfortable around heavy machinery. Monitor pumps, valves, motors, vacuum, air pressure, etc. Work with maintenance to fix issues. Unload paper trucks and maintain record of paper unloaded. Conduct routine operator maintenance. Record hourly bail usage. Report necessary information to supervisor. Comply with plant food and safety standards. Effectively perform machine operator duties on any machine, filling in as needed and during breaks. May be asked to record KPI (Key Performance Indicators) metrics. Other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

High School Diploma or GED. Prior work experience as an Operator, 6 months to 1 year with mechanical experience. The incumbent must have basic operating knowledge and understanding of computer systems. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving more concrete variables in standardized situations. Written and oral in English is required. Must have working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities, product layouts production specifications, product quality specifications and quality standards. If needed, you will be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License. Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy, able to calculate figures and amounts. Able to apply concepts of high school math. Must be able to stand, walk, talk, and hear. Frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must have good attendance, be a team player, and be able to work overtime as required. Ability to multitask in fast paced warehouse environment. Ability to work standing for extended periods. Ability to read and comprehend instructions.

Working Environment Safety glasses, hearing protection, harness, beard cover and steel-toed shoes are required. In addition, task specific PPE may be required. Other Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
