In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding operations on various metal materials, primarily focusing on sheet metal and structural components. Your expertise will ensure the integrity and quality of fabricated products, adhering to strict safety and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to contribute to the success of our fabrication shop. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to verify dimensions and tolerances in accordance with project specifications. Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment safely and efficiently during fabrication processes. Measure, cut, bend, and assemble sheet metal components while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and AWS standards. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or in the shop environment to meet project deadlines and quality expectations. Maintain a clean, organized work area while following all safety procedures related to construction site experience, crane operation, and metal fabrication. Experience Proven experience in metal fabrication or welding within a construction or manufacturing environment. Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints. Hands-on experience with various welding techniques including SMAW, GMAW/MIG, TIG, and FCAW. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and the use of measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Knowledge of shop math, basic math skills, and mechanical knowledge essential for precise fabrication tasks. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and other fabrication machinery effectively. Prior experience working with sheet metal materials and performing sheet metal fabrication tasks is highly desirable.
