SUMMARY The Line Lead is responsible for assisting the Management Team on the overall functionality of one or two production and/or assembly line (s). Assembles, arranges the production lines as required and according to the operational specifications. Assigns tasks to the team members assigned to the line (s) and enforces all the Health and Safety and Food Safety Programs established by the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following, but are not limited to:
  • Follows all the company policies set in our Employee Handbook.
  • Has functional literacy and oral communication skills in English for safety and following job specific instructions.
  • Ensures that team members under his/her leadership comply with the Company's Health & Safety and Food Safety programs and requirements.
  • Has the ability to function under highly stressful conditions.
  • Communicates regularly with and in coordination with Production Supervisor and/or Department Lead (s) in assigning duties to crew members and examining work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to specifications.
  • Checks production schedule to coordinate production and assists in assigning job orders and product specifications to team members
  • Coordinates assignment of duties with the team members and ensures the proper processing of all products. This may include mixing, pouring, assembly, cooking, baking, decorating, slicing and cutting, finishing, packaging, palletizing, etc. according to the production schedule.
  • Ensures consistent quality and appearance of the products.
  • Coordinates the retaining of samples process for each batch.
  • Covers for Department Lead as required and based on the needs of the company.
  • Directs and participates in the housekeeping of the working area by coordinating with the sanitation group, cleaning the facility, equipment, floors, etc.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all equipment and tools in facility while observing all sanitation and safety precautions.
  • Trains team members on proper use of equipment as needed, once line lead has received the proper training certification.
  • When necessary, generates case labels, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensures all operators are completing the manufacturing/operations reports accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Partners with the Quality Assurance to ensure we meet the Food Safety policies, procedures and standards set by the company.
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY
This position is responsible for following company policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure the production, storage and distribution of safe, quality food. Responsible for informing management of any observation or finding that could impact the safety and quality of company products. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School education but preferred One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to perform unit measures, conversion calculations and other mathematical calculations reasonably necessary to satisfactorily perform job duties.
