Varies Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (must be flexible to work occasional weekends to meet project deadlines)

Depending on Experience Job Summary The Welder Helper assists welders and fabrication personnel in the preparation, assembly, and repair of metal components and structures. This position supports welding operations by gathering materials, preparing work areas, cleaning equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist welders with setup and preparation of materials for welding projects. Clean, grind, bevel, and prepare metal surfaces before and after welding. Hold and position materials, tools, and equipment as directed by welders. Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other shop equipment safely. Load, unload, move, and organize materials and supplies. Assist in measuring, cutting, and fitting metal components according to specifications. Clean welds and remove slag, rust, and debris from finished products. Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site requirements. Assist with shop and field installations as needed. Perform other duties assigned by supervisors or project managers. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous construction, manufacturing, welding, or mechanical experience is a plus. Basic knowledge of welding tools, materials, and shop safety practices preferred. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations. Willingness to learn welding and fabrication techniques. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods. Comfortable working in varying temperatures and industrial environments. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and steel-toe boots. Skills and Competencies Strong work ethic and reliability. Attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures. Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn. Work Environment Industrial shop and construction job site settings. Exposure to welding fumes, noise, heat, and moving machinery. May require overtime, weekend work, and travel to project sites as needed.
