Job Description

SUMMARY Provides general production assistance by operating mail processing machines including folders, meters, verifiers, and small inserters, or inserts and seals envelopes by hand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Counts, weighs, folds, inserts, or meters material based on work order or other instructions. Records postage used and/or number of finished pieces produced. Evaluates materials applying quality control procedures. Inserts envelopes by hand or with envelope inserting machine as needed. Sets up and adjusts machines. Starts machine to verify accuracy of machine setup. Follows sample or work order and observes operation of machine throughout production run. Performs routine maintenance to ensure machines are in working order. Scans work orders or enters data into database for job tracking and internal control. May assist with warehouse, material handling, and machine operations, as needed. Follows relevant job description and operational procedures while performing other duties. Trains new and current employees on machines, equipment, processes, and procedures as needed. General administrative duties including filing, scanning, record-keeping, and data entry. Clean up of production areas as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Attendance - Maintains a regular work schedule. Schedules time off in advance. Follows time off and timekeeping policies & procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
