The Opportunity Woosong University invites applications for two Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Global AI Media and Communication Arts. We welcome applicants with experience in the media industry, media education, or AI media production who can help students connect creative practice with emerging technologies. Successful candidates will contribute to an English-taught program that brings together storytelling, audiovisual production, AI-enabled creative practices, and global media culture. These appointments offer an opportunity to contribute to AI-focused teaching while mentoring students in the development of their creative and technical capabilities. About the Department The Department of Global AI Media and Communication Arts combines hands-on media production with critical inquiry into global media and cultural industries. Its English-taught program develops students' abilities in storytelling and audiovisual production while exploring how media is created, distributed, and experienced across platforms. A distinctive focus on Hallyu—the Korean Wave—connects students' learning to Korea's film, television, music, and digital entertainment industries. Production projects, industry engagement, and SIMAfest, the department's annual student film festival, provide opportunities for students to develop and showcase their work. The department's AI-focused teaching connects these foundations with emerging approaches to generative media, creative production, and digital storytelling.Learn more:
Program Overview — English Department Website — Korean Facilities and Equipment Responsibilities Successful candidates will: Teach 15 credit hours per semester. Develop and update course materials to maintain academic rigor and relevance to current industry practice. Advise and mentor students on academic progress and career development. Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation activities. Participate in departmental and university committees, academic events, and student activities. Support the department and university through service activities. Perform other duties assigned by the department chair or dean. Required Qualifications An MFA or higher degree in Media Art or a related field. Experience meeting at least one of the following criteria: o At least five years of experience in the media industry or in media education; or o At least two years of experience in AI media production or in teaching AI media production. Demonstrated expertise in current media production practices and technologies. English proficiency sufficient for teaching and academic communication. Preferred Qualifications Ability to manage departmental production studios and computer labs. Potential Teaching Areas Teaching assignments may include the following courses, depending on departmental needs: Generative Media, Storytelling, and Production Introduction to Generative Media Arts AI-Driven Storytelling and Scriptwriting AI Video Synthesis and Creative Editing Algorithmic Sound and Virtual AI Audio Production AI-Enhanced Virtual Production and VFX AI Media Applications and Capstone Projects AI Media Capstone Design Practice Programming for AI Media Advanced AI Capstone Design Media Analytics and AI Audience Insights AI Media Entrepreneurship and Platform Strategy Media, Culture, and Directing Global Culture Industry Media and Cultural Studies Understanding Korean Wave Acting for Directing Final course assignments will be determined by departmental needs.Compensation and Benefits Salary :
