•$1.45 About the Role Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking experienced, motivated Production Leads to join our manufacturing team in Rocky Mount, VA. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for helping coordinate daily production activities, supporting and developing team members, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring production goals are achieved. The ideal candidate has previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or similar fast-paced environment and is comfortable providing direction, solving problems, monitoring performance, and working alongside the team when needed. What You'll Do Lead and coordinate daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and operational goals are achieved. Provide direction to production team members, establish priorities, assign tasks, and monitor workflow throughout the shift. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement. Ensure employees follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Monitor production staffing and workflow and communicate staffing or operational needs to leadership. Train and support new and existing employees on production processes, equipment, quality expectations, and safety procedures. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including safety, quality, productivity, labor, and on-time completion. Identify production bottlenecks, workflow concerns, and opportunities to improve efficiency. Assist machine operators and production employees as needed to maintain workflow and achieve production goals. Maintain a high level of quality control and ensure products meet established specifications and manufacturing standards. Review production schedules, work orders, customer orders, and other documentation to determine daily production priorities. Ensure necessary materials, components, equipment, and documentation are prepared for scheduled production. Collaborate with Supervisors, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to support efficient production operations. Maintain working knowledge of production equipment and assist with basic troubleshooting when appropriate. Complete required production logs, reports, and documentation accurately and on time. Support leadership with production planning, capacity needs, staffing, and achievement of department objectives. Perform additional duties as assigned. What We're Looking For High School Diploma or GED preferred/required based on position. 1-3 years of previous leadership, Lead, Team Lead, or Assistant Management experience preferred. Previous manufacturing or production experience strongly preferred. Ability to effectively lead, communicate with, and motivate a production team. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision. Working knowledge of manufacturing, production, and/or warehouse operations. Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft Excel and Word preferred. Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure preferred. Experience working with production metrics, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement initiatives is a plus. Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions. Physical & Work Requirements This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position. Candidates must be comfortable working in an active production environment and performing the physical requirements of the role, including: Standing and walking for extended periods, including shifts of up to 12 hours depending on schedule. Frequently bending, reaching, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and using hands for grasping and manipulation. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds as required. Wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Maintaining a strong commitment to both employee safety and product quality.
