Job Description

Our client is seeking a hands-on Production Team Lead to support daily production and assembly operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment serving critical infrastructure and modular systems projects at their facility in Ruther Glen, VA. This is a night shift position. NOTE

  • Mon•Thur 330PM•530AM (Four 10 Hour Shifts) This role combines leadership responsibilities with active participation on the production floor.
The Production Team Lead will help coordinate workflow, guide assemblers through assigned tasks, support troubleshooting efforts, and ensure quality and safety expectations are consistently met. Job Summary The Production Team Lead supports daily production and assembly activities by guiding a team through assigned work, priorities, and quality expectations. This position serves as a key communication link between production staff and leadership while helping maintain efficiency, organization, and safety on the floor. Responsibilities Coordinate daily tasks, assignments, and priorities for a team of assemblers. Provide hands-on support and technical guidance during mechanical, electrical, and systems assembly activities. Monitor work quality and verify compliance with assembly standards and specifications. Identify defects or rework needs and assist with corrective actions. Support troubleshooting of routine and moderately complex assembly issues. Communicate schedule updates, material needs, and production risks to leadership. Train, coach, and mentor new or less experienced team members. Promote safe work practices and enforce PPE and safety requirements. Stop work when unsafe conditions are identified. Maintain an organized work area and ensure readiness of materials, documentation, and equipment. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 4+ years of assembly, manufacturing, or related experience required. Demonstrated ability to lead small teams and provide technical guidance. Strong communication and coordination skills. Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation. Physical Requirements & Abilities Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance. Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet, including scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders. Ability to walk, climb, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine basis. Good vision (corrected vision acceptable), color recognition, and ability to communicate effectively in English. Ability to safely use ladders while carrying tools and equipment. Ability to recognize operational issues or unsafe conditions. Ability to apply general problem-solving skills and make sound decisions. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
