Strasburg, VA Position Summary The Production Operator is responsible for operating production equipment and supporting all aspects of facility operations to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. This role requires cross-functional support in machine operations, material handling, inventory movement, equipment inspections, quality control, housekeeping, and operational troubleshooting. The Production Operator will be cross trained in multiple production functions and will work closely with maintenance, logistics, warehouse, and supervisory personnel to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in supporting the overall operational success of the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Operations Operate production equipment safely and efficiently according to established procedures. Monitor equipment performance and make minor adjustments as needed to maintain productivity. Perform startup, shutdown, and changeover activities. Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality standards. Identify production delays, equipment issues, or safety concerns and report them promptly. Assist in maintaining continuous material flow throughout the production process. Material Handling & Logistics Support Move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility as required. Support loading and unloading activities. Assist with inventory organization, product staging, and storage activities. Ensure materials are properly identified, labeled, and stored. Support warehouse and shipping operations as needed. Equipment & Maintenance Support Keep machinery and work areas clean and operational. Report maintenance concerns and equipment abnormalities immediately. Support efforts to minimize equipment downtime. Safety & Quality Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and inspections. Perform quality checks and inspections throughout the production process. Identify and report quality issues and assist in corrective actions. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with housekeeping standards. Team Support & Continuous Improvement Work collaboratively with operators, maintenance personnel, warehouse staff, and supervisors. Crosstrain in various operational functions to provide coverage when needed. Suggest process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Assist with inventory counts and operational projects as assigned. Support facility operations during peak production periods or staffing shortages. Other Duties Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations. Maintain flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts as required. Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Manufacturing, recycling, industrial, warehouse, or equipment operation experience preferred. Forklift experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to safely operate industrial processing equipment. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Dependable attendance and work ethic. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to bend, reach, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to work in varying industrial conditions, including heat, dust, noise, and outdoor environments. Ability to work overtime as operational demands require.Expected hours:
