Job Description

Hours:
1st shift: 6am-4pm Monday-Thursday 2nd shift: 4pm- 2am Monday-Thursday (Possible overtime on Fridays)

Appleton, WI Position Summary:
The Sheetfed Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating sheetfed printing equipment to produce high-quality products that meet established production and quality standards. This position oversees the press operation from setup through production while helping ensure jobs are completed efficiently and accurately. The Press Operator also provides direction and support to Feeder Helpers, working as part of the team to address production needs, solve problems, and maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily sheetfed press operations to maintain consistent product quality while meeting production and cost expectations. Ensure all production activities follow company safety guidelines, work procedures, and quality standards. Monitor equipment condition and ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping are maintained throughout the department. Oversee the identification, labeling, and tracking of materials designated as Return to Inventory (RTI) or Work in Process (WIP). Ensure material quantities and production status are accurately documented and updated. Work with other departments and team members to identify opportunities for improving production processes, efficiency, and time standards. Assist with developing and maintaining efficient production procedures and workflow. Train and support new and existing employees on daily press operations, processes, safety procedures, and quality expectations. Conduct initial quality inspections of products and processes to verify they meet established company standards. Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability within the production department. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous printing experience or knowledge of printing processes and terminology preferred. Ability to understand and follow production instructions and procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn new processes and equipment.
