Elipticon Wood Products, Inc. , a leading manufacturer of high-end wood moldings and millwork, is growing and looking for a dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented General Laborer to join our team of employee-owners. This is a hands-on manufacturing position that involves a combination of wood preparation, equipment operation, hand tools, and gluing . You'll work from specific customer orders, preparing and assembling wood material to meet the requirements of each job. The work requires attention to detail, accurate measurements, physical effort, and a willingness to learn and operate different equipment. What You'll Do Pull material from raw inventory based on specific job requirements. Prepare and process wood material for specific glue and millwork jobs. Operate equipment such as finger joiners, shapers, saws, and other woodworking equipment . Use hand tools and perform hands-on material preparation. Glue and assemble material according to the requirements of each job. Identify wood species and perform color matching when needed. Read and follow job specifications, measurements, and work instructions. Read a tape measure and perform basic fraction-to-decimal conversions. Handle and move wood materials throughout the production process. Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture. Participate in process improvement programs and look for ways to make the work better. Flow to the need with minimal direction when the situation requires it. Work as part of a team to keep jobs moving and meet production needs. Safety & Respirator Requirements Proper respiratory protection is required when performing tasks involving certain adhesives or materials. Employees required to wear a tight-fitting respirator must be able to achieve and maintain a proper facial seal. Facial hair that interferes with the respirator's sealing surface is not permitted when the respirator must be worn. Employees required to use a respirator will participate in the company's required respiratory protection program, including applicable medical evaluation, fit testing, and training. What We're Looking For You don't need to know everything on day one. We're willing to train the right person. We're looking for someone who: Is dependable and looking for a long-term opportunity . Enjoys hands-on work and working with wood. Is comfortable learning and operating different equipment. Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in quality work. Can follow instructions, measurements, and job specifications. Can read a tape measure and perform basic measurements and calculations. Has good basic math skills, including fractions and decimals. Can use hand tools and perform physical, hands-on work. Can work independently while also being a strong team player. Has good communication skills and a positive attitude. Is willing to learn new skills and take on new challenges. Takes ownership of their work and follows through on responsibilities. Previous woodworking, millwork, manufacturing, or equipment experience is a plus.
