Rushing Waters Fisheries raises premium quality Rainbow Trout on an 80-acre farm in Palmyra, WI. In addition to raising premium quality trout, Rushing Waters has anFDA/HACCP
certified production facility that is run by a passionate team of local residents. Our pledge for quality has inspired a delicious line of value-added seafood products including but not limited to hot smoked fish, spreads, crab cakes and salmon burgers. As a Food Production Assistant, you will play an integral role in our efforts to provide the high-quality seafood products mentioned above. In this position, you will gain experience in many facets of the business as you cross-train within different departments and often develop focused skill sets which can lead to career growth.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a wide variety of machinery, including but not limited to, packaging machines, mixers, grinders, scales, etc.
- Assist with preparation of raw food products, including but not limited to, cutting, rinsing, etc.
- Assist with preparing and packaging raw and/or cooked products, including application of labels on finished goods
- Verify quality of finished products before leaving the facility
- Perform a variety of sanitation duties daily and assist with documentation to ensure
FDA/HACCP
compliance standards are met. Qualifications- Food processing and/or sanitation experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as a team at a quick efficient pace.
- Must be able to lift and move at least 40 pounds or more.
- Ability to be in refrigerated cooler for up to 1 hour at a time Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the essential job responsibilities.
