Position Summary This position is a multi-role position responsible for CDL Class A driving, pilot vehicle operation for oversize and overweight loads, and forklift operation in support of Granite Peak Fabrication (GPF) shop, yard, and shipping operations. The employee will transport fabricated equipment and materials between GPF facilities, vendors, and customer job sites; escort oversize GPF loads in compliance with WYDOT and destination-state escort requirements; and operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, stage, and move vessels, skids, and materials. This position is primarily local and regional, with occasional multi-day trips required to escort or deliver loads. All duties must be performed in full compliance with

regulations and company safety policies.

Essential Responsibilities CDL Class A Driving Duties:

Operate company-owned commercial motor vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, step-decks, and lowboys, to transport fabricated equipment and materials between GPF facilities, vendors, and job sites. Safely load, secure, transport, and unload vessels, skids, structural steel, pipe, and other fabricated products in compliance with FMCSA cargo securement standards. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects per DOT regulations. Accurately complete driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs), electronic logs, bills of lading, shipping paperwork, and any other required documentation. Maintain compliance with DOT hours-of-service, medical certification, and company drug and alcohol testing policies. Follow all federal, state, and local transportation laws, as well as company safety procedures. Escort Vehicle Duties:

Operate the company pilot/escort vehicle to lead or follow oversize and overweight loads shipped from GPF facilities, including loads moved by contract carriers. Obtain and maintain pilot/escort vehicle certification as required by WYDOT and by the states traveled through; maintain certifications in good standing. Coordinate with the GPF Shipping/Logistics Coordinator, permit services, and carriers to review routes, permits, travel-time restrictions, and escort requirements prior to departure. Perform route surveys as required, identifying height, width, weight, and clearance restrictions and communicating hazards to the driver and Logistics Coordinator. Maintain the escort vehicle and required equipment (signs, flags, lights, height pole, radios, safety gear) in serviceable and compliant condition. Maintain radio communication with the load driver at all times during escort operations and assist with lane changes, turns, bridge crossings, and traffic control. Assist with flagging and traffic control during load-out, staging, and delivery at GPF facilities and job sites. Ensure all permits, route documentation, and escort paperwork are complete and available prior to and during transport.

Forklift and Material Handling Duties:

Safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other material handling equipment to load, unload, stage, and move vessels, skids, and materials in the shop and yard. Coordinate with shop foremen, warehouse personnel, and other forklift operators during loading and unloading to ensure proper material handling and placement. Assist the warehouse with receiving, staging, and issuing materials to the shop when driving and escort duties are complete. Move projects and materials between shops without damage; report any damaged material to the Shop Foreman or Warehouse Manager immediately. Ensure spool pallets and finished goods have adequate flange and coating protection prior to loading or release to the shop. Perform daily pre-use inspections on forklifts and material handling equipment and report defects. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe yard and shipping area in accordance with company and OSHA standards.

Verification and Coordination Responsibilities:

Verify equipment and materials against the shipping list, packing slip, or Job Bill of Materials (BOM) at the time of pickup and delivery to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition. Confirm quantities, descriptions, and job identifiers prior to transport and report any discrepancies immediately to the appropriate GPF manager. Communicate clearly and professionally with GPF managers, project managers, shipping/logistics, and customer site personnel during pickups and deliveries. Obtain signed delivery documentation and return all shipping paperwork to the Logistics Coordinator daily. Minimum Job Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL); clean driving history required. Current DOT medical certificate or ability to obtain and maintain one. Ability to comply with all FMCSA and DOT regulations, including recordkeeping, inspections, and electronic logging. Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) per company and insurance standards. Experience with load securement and transport of industrial or fabricated equipment, including oversize/overweight loads, preferred. Working knowledge of oversize/overweight permit requirements, escort rules, and travel restrictions preferred. Experience with ASME codes, practices, and standards preferred. 3-5 years of experience in oil and gas fabrication, heavy haul, or related industrial environment preferred. Ability to travel for multi-day trips as required to escort or deliver loads. Must be drug free; pre-employment drug testing and participation in a DOT-compliant random drug and alcohol testing program are required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods during a work shift. Ability to climb in and out of commercial vehicles and trailers and onto trailer decks to secure and tarp loads. Ability to safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Ability to sit and drive for extended periods, including multi-day trips. Sufficient vision, hearing, and physical coordination to safely operate vehicles and equipment and to meet DOT medical standards. Ability to work in shop, yard, roadway, and outdoor environments with exposure to varying temperatures, weather, dust, and noise.
