PALA Interstate, LLC Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Civil Quality Control Inspector / Surveyor to support heavy civil, refinery, petrochemical, and industrial construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for field quality inspections, construction surveying, verification of work activities, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable industry standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining quality, schedule, and project documentation while coordinating closely with construction, engineering, and project management teams. Primary Responsibilities Perform inspections of site preparation, earthwork, grading, excavation, foundations, concrete placement, underground utilities, paving, structural steel, and related civil construction activities. Conduct construction layout, elevation checks, grade verification, and as-built surveys using GPS and total station equipment. Verify work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, IFC documents, and client quality requirements. Review and maintain inspection reports, survey records, test reports, turnover packages, and quality documentation. Coordinate required material testing, density testing, concrete testing, and third-party inspection activities. Identify, document, and track nonconforming work and corrective actions. Verify dimensions, alignments, tolerances, anchor bolt locations, equipment foundations, and underground utility installations. Participate in client inspections, audits, walkdowns, and turnover activities. Maintain calibration records for survey and inspection equipment. Support project safety initiatives and ensure work activities comply with refinery and industrial site requirements. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in civil construction inspection, quality control, or surveying. Experience working within refineries, petrochemical facilities, LNG terminals, power plants, or other industrial construction environments. Proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations, and construction layout software. Strong ability to read and interpret civil, structural, piping, and site development drawings. Familiarity with ASTM testing standards, construction specifications, and industrial quality programs. Knowledge of concrete testing, earthwork inspection, structural steel erection, and underground utility construction. TWIC Card preferred. Valid driver's license and ability to work in field environments. Traits Strong attention to detail. Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to interact professionally with owners, contractors, inspectors, and craft personnel.
