full-time Job Summary The Quality Control Specialist supports the company's Quality Improvement and Compliance Program to ensure adherence to all regulatory and food safety requirements. This role assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Food Safety and Quality Program, including data collection, analysis, documentation, and record management across manufacturing and distribution operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the Food Safety Plan (SQF) for both distribution and manufacturing facilities.
- Ensure all required forms, logs, and checklists are completed accurately, updated regularly, and aligned with the food safety plan.
- Assists in maintaining company registers and training records, including training logs and documentation.
- Participate in and document monthly SQF meetings.
- Assists in maintaining Corrective Action Request (CAR) files, including photos and customer correspondence.
- Assist with annual internal audits and preparation for external audits (SQF, FDA, USDA, and customer audits).
- Assists in maintaining the QA hold database.
- Ensure repair work orders are created and tracked through completion.
- Monitor and document preventive maintenance activities.
- Monitor pest control visits and review weekly reports.
- Develop and maintain annual pest control trend analyses.
- Monitor facility sanitation practices and documentation.
- Ensure sanitation chemicals are properly stored and adequately stocked.
- Maintain the Approved Supplier List and raw material logs.
- Inspect raw materials and verify lot numbers prior to production.
- Transfers of raw materials and finished goods
- Verify allergen declarations for all raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain allergen registers and verify changeovers, cleaning validation swabs, and label accuracy.
- Perform sifter and metal detector checks and verify annual calibration.
- Support GMP training for production staff and monitor compliance with personnel practices.
- Ensure required production supplies (hair nets, beard nets, gloves) are maintained in inventory.
- Assist in laboratory testing, including sensory evaluation, pH, Bostwick, water activity, moisture, bake testing, Brix, colorimeter, and ascorbic acid testing.
- Assist with product sampling and verification of results.
- Support generation and verification of Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Perform pre-operational inspections, changeovers, weight checks, line checks, transfer verifications, and monthly internal inspections.
- Assist with Kosher program inspections and coordination with the Rabbi.
- Support Halal certification requirements.
- Monitor annual calibration of scales and metal detectors.
- Update Eurogerm KB documentation for current products.
- Support inspections, audits, and compliance initiatives as needed.
- Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management. Required Skills

- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Two to four years of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or a related field preferred.
- Baking experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
