Responsible for coordination of analyses performed by outside contract laboratories, certificate of analysis generation, review of QC Laboratory data, and release of materials and products from the QC Laboratory. Follows established Thorne Research procedures to correctly, efficiently promptly and accurately disposition Thorne Research products. The QC Data Analyst performs specific duties and responsibilities based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) ensuring the consistency and quality of the product
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembles data from QC Laboratory Generates certificates of analysis (COAs). Generates purchase orders for laboratory analysis. Becomes proficient using the laboratory information management system (LIMS). Verifies that all testing has been completed prior to forwarding receiving reports and batch records to QADC. Understands company specification sheets (FPSs, RMSs, etc.). Coordinates submission and testing of samples requiring analysis by an outside contract laboratory (OCL). Receives results from OCLs, verifies correct testing was performed, and enters results in LIMS. Corresponds with OCL representatives for rush analyses and other inquiries. Assists with periodic reexamination requirements. Is committed to impartiality and confidentiality in all aspects of laboratory activities, informs management when risks to impartiality and confidentiality are identified and supports taking steps immediately to minimize such risks. Performs other duties as assigned Supports maintaining the integrity of the management system as described in
ISO 17025
when changes to the management system are planned and implemented.
WHAT YOU NEED
Experience and/or
Education:
By training, education and/or experience, employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Language Ability:
Employee can read and understand the QC Department's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and the Thorne Research Employee Handbook. The employee follows instructions, both verbal and written, and communicates effectively with supervisors and fellow employees.
Math Ability:
Employee can add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Employee can solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer and Technical Skills:
Employee can learn to use company's computer to perform lab functions and to accomplish the responsibilities of the job. Possesses knowledge of the computers and software required to accomplish the Responsibilities of the job. Develops and delivers on assigned objectives within requested timeframes Possesses good interpersonal skills. Engages others in a positive manner. Possesses strong attention to detail. Possesses strong verbal and communication skills. Raises issues and concerns promptly. Documents and presents work in a clear and concise manner. Works independently with minimal direction and oversight.
