Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5-10+ years of automotive manufacturing quality experience (OEM or Tier 1 preferred) 3-5+ years of leadership experience managing teams of 20-50+ associates Strong expertise in

IATF 16949 / ISO

9001 and AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC) Proven experience leading containment activities and driving root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) Experience managing inspection, sorting, containment, rework, or repair operations Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, or similar tools) Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment with extended hours and physical demands Preferred Skills & Qualifications Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Lean manufacturing experience and Kaizen leadership Experience in union or multi-shift manufacturing environments Familiarity with OEM systems (GM, Ford, Stellantis, Toyota, etc.) P&L or cost-impact accountability experience Experience integrating rework/repair processes into production flow Day-to-Day Responsibilities Lead daily operations of the Inspection & Containment team (50+ associates across shifts) Manage containment events, including quarantine, sorting, and 100% inspection activities Oversee rework and repair operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and reduced cycle times Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions Monitor and report KPIs (PPM, escape rate, rework hours, scrap cost, etc.) Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer requirements, and internal QMS standards Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues and escalations Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Supplier Quality teams Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, layered audits) Develop, coach, and performance manage team members Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions associated with the job may include standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, and working in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong floor presence and the ability to support operations across shifts as needed.
