Quality Control Supervisor Position Overview We are seeking a Quality Control Supervisor who is committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment. This role is responsible for overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of quality control systems, processes, and standards across manufacturing operations. The Quality Control Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction through strong leadership, analytical problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the daily performance of Quality Control (QC) staff. Lead, motivate, coach, and train QC personnel to meet or exceed department and company goals. Lead or support Quality department projects and collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on cross-functional initiatives. Investigate customer complaints, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Propose, promote, and champion quality improvements for products, processes, and systems. Reduce process variation and eliminate product defects through data-driven problem solving. Maintain and support ISO-based quality management systems. Implement and manage statistical process control and quality monitoring systems for raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), nonconforming materials, and finished goods. Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality requirements. Develop strategies to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency. Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives using appropriate quality tools and methodologies. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education and industry best practices. Participate in internal and external quality audits. Develop, analyze, and present Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Skills Ability to work effectively across multiple departments. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong project management and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) industry certifications. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time (JIT), Six Sigma methodologies, and Total Quality Management principles. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance experience. Experience in photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing or a related industry preferred. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Professional communication and collaboration with employees, contractors, and cross-functional teams. Willingness to work on-call schedules, weekends, and in outdoor environments as needed. Technical Skills Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications. Experience with 5S, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or the Toyota Production System. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality monitoring tools. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus. Core Competencies Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
