A Quality Control Manager focuses on detection of mistakes and defects in manufacturing products. Develops procedures and tests to identify any irregularities and error in the output. Manages and oversees all steps related to quality control as part of the quality management strategy of a company. May involve leadership of a team of quality control technicians and other associated staff members.
Exempt About the Position We are seeking an experienced Quality Control General Manager to lead and oversee quality control operations within a fast-paced distribution center environment in Redlands, California. The Quality Control General Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously evaluating quality programs to ensure production operations—from raw materials through finished products—meet established standards for quality, integrity, functionality, and efficiency. This is a key leadership position that works closely with production management, senior leadership, and various operational departments to establish quality standards, improve processes, and maintain consistent compliance with company expectations. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic oversight of production operations to ensure products meet established quality, integrity, functionality, and specification requirements. Collaborate with management and senior staff across production departments to establish and maintain acceptable quality standards. Develop and implement quality testing, inspection, and evaluation processes. Facilitate communication between production teams, departments, and management regarding quality standards and performance. Review and analyze testing results and approve recommended process or quality improvements. Review quality control documentation, including checklists, logs, reports, and related records, for accuracy, effectiveness, and relevance. Conduct random inspections and quality control checks throughout operations. Identify quality concerns, trends, and opportunities for continuous improvement. Report quality control and operational performance to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies. Train and provide guidance to staff on quality control standards, processes, and expectations. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related industrial, scientific, or business field. 8-10 years of related experience in quality control, manufacturing, production, or a similar environment. Strong understanding of quality control standards, methodologies, and processes. Strong understanding of manufacturing and production operations. Proven supervisory and leadership experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Highly Preferred:
At least 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar quality-focused leadership role. Master's degree in a related field. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Ability to walk, access, and inspect all areas of a warehouse/distribution center environment. Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures.
